Honda City 2009 : The inspirational story

The newly launched 2009 model Honda City has already received a huge fan following in India thanks to Honda’s PR. But, the design of Honda is truly inspirational and could be noted easily by many people. Jus see the pics below

The first pic is that of new Honda City and the second one is that of BMW 5 series. Just see the resemblance b/w the tail lights of two cars. Now that's one inspirational design.

Windows 7 : Vista Reborn

Microsoft's latest OS on the block WINDOWS SE7EN is out in beta version. But does it answer to all the questions asked about Windows last offering VISTA ?

Performance

Well, every one called vista resource hogging. Lets see how windows 7 performs here. When i started up my pc without any application my pc took 536mb RAM (total of 3gb) and vista took around 950mb and XP around 520mb. Some of my friends are running Windows seven on their Pentium 3 with 512mb ram without any problem. The min. requirements are 1Ghz processor and 512 mb ram, 16 Gb HDD (i allocated only 13Gb) and a DVD ROM. The Windows takes less time compared to vista under 45sec it took me. The windows application are responsive and i was amazed to see its quickness though i was using XP SP3 earlier.

The Taskbar

The first noticeable change in windows 7 is the new taskbar which has gone under change first time since windows 95 came out. The taskbar now shows only the icon of the application that are open or pinned to the taskbar. Multiple instances of same program are grouped together. When you move your mouse over to the icon it shows all the instances in a preview window which you can click upon to select a window.

Gadgets

The Windows 7 has done away with windows sidebar (virtually) and the gadgets are now scrambled all over the desktop as the user wants. You can even resize gadgets which wasn't possible earlier. The taskbar contains show desktop icon which you can click to show desktop and all the gadgets. If you just move your mouse to right corner of the screen over Show Desktop icon than it makes all the windows invisible to show the Desktop and the gadgets for you in case you just want to take a look..

Multi touch and Handwriting recognition

Well i never got a chance to test this feature as it requires some hardware also. But it seems great and i hope it works out well

Jump Lists and Device managers

The OS also has new features like jump lists which shows the recently opened file for programs without any need to actually open the application which can come in handy.

It also assembles all the device like USB device , printer etc to one place which make managing and troubleshooting easier. Also let me mention the inbuilt improved driver support. I didn’t need to install any Driver including for my Bluetooth or WIFI.

Internet Explore 8.

Theme Packages.

Parental Control.

Windows Live tools.

UAC :

This is also one thing that people didn't like about VISTA(i wonder why people didn't turn it off in Vista). But this time Microsoft has made it more flexible and adjustable at four different levels of security.

Battery Life :

The battery life improves. In my laptop it showed more batter time remaining than compared to vista or XP.

Parental control

and other small tools use it to know them.

Overall

Overall this is a great product although still in BETA but it seems great and could help windows fight back and take its market share from MAC OSX which got a chance with Vista. This is a must try if you have spare 16Gb HDD. I can wait for the final version. Microsoft bring it on.

Firefox vs Chrome : which is better browser

Google released its own browser Google chrome sometime back in the market dominated by IE and Firefox. So, does it have what it takes to be a market leader. Is it good enough to challenge Firefox ever increasing market share. Lets find out.

MOZILLA FIREFOX:

Pros-

• Safe and secure.
• Numerous Add ons

Cons-

• Not good where it matters i.e. browsing speed.
• Slow to start and eats lot of memory.

The firefox is the only browser which at the moment threatning to dislodge IE from the top spot. The browser supported by google has been growing in market share ever since it was launched. The browser gained popularity because of its safety and security features and is now supported by numerous addons which have become a part of the life of the users using it. The recently launched Firefox 3 became the most downloaded software in the world in a single day. The overwhelming response was however overshadowed by the disappointment shown by the users. The fiefox 3 added som features like easy bookmark option etc but it wasnt very stable and many users reverted back to the firefox v2 for this reason.

The add ons that were supposed to be the main strength of the browsers popularity have however now posing a problem as they tend to make browser slow to start and even the browsing speed at the websites is slower than its counterparts. It takes a lot of RAM for very few tabs which is also a big drawback for computers having less RAM. Keeping these points in mind lets discuss Google Chrome.

GOOGLE CHROME -

Pros:

• Fast startup
• Light on system
• Clean interface
• Web browsing is faster.

Cons:

• No support for addons
• No version for Linux or Mac
• The interface is not to the liking of many people.

When i see Chrome i feel like that google has tried to incorporate all the features that Firefox was missing into its browser. The load time is very minimum. The browsing speed on sites is faster compared to ff. The interface is clean and saves a couple of lines on the screen however, its not liked by many ppl for the same reason but i dont have nay problem with the interface personally. The only thing missing from the browser is add-ons support. i'm sure many ppl will switch to Chrome(including me) as soom as add-on support is added.

Hmm, and did i forgot to tell that things arent looking good for IE8 :D

NFS Undercover : Game review

So, i finally got my hands on the latest Need for Speed Game. I havent played much of the game yet but just a few races, so what i write is not a review but kind of a first look review

Pros:

• Free roam world mode is back
• Some races are very interesting
• The cop chase is better

Cons:

• Technical glitch : the frame rate freeze error
• No street racing
• Graphics worse than most wanted

Overall rating : 2.5 out of 5.

To start of things, the inro wasnt very impressive for me. There was hardly any connection with the previous games. The story is still to be seen. The game looks like a combination of all the previous nfs including underground, most wanted and prostreet. There is a artificial damage also on car, which looks cool but doensnt affect the [erformance. I played this game with almost high graphics without any problem, although that wasnt the case with prostreet, i wonder why. The graphics arent really great if u ask me but looks nice overall and gives a good feeling. I feel that EA has tried to give more details to the background, EA says is HD compatible.

There is police in this game as everyone likes and found it a little more difficult to evade the police in this game even at the first heat level than in nfs most wanted. But, the good thing is that u can exit the game anytime u want even with police on your tail. The police seems to be more smart. And one change is the police only catches u only whn they are asked on wireles to do so. Otherwise you can drive alongside police, and they wont bother u untill u crash ur car in them. There are different driver skills like transmission, brakes, engine etc which improve your ride. The car lot, garage and parts shop are all built into one building on the map. The maps seems to be huge.

The biggest drawback of the game is the technical lag that i have confirmed from all over the internet that is the frame freezes. No matte what your pcs config is you will see this frama freezes coming , which is the biggest downer. I feel EA should fire all the game testers now.

Winning races gave some skill points and some cash.



For this game i will give it a mere 2.5 out of 5 that too because of past reputation.

Why to and not pay taxes ..

Lets start with why you should pay taxes :
1. So that govt gets money to builds highways n still take toll tax.

2. Build multilevel parking's n still take parking fees.
3. Builds road and other transport infrastruture which anyways is always insufficient.
4. Open more government schools where only children of poor people study who anyway dont pay taxes.
5. Run public sectors companies like telcom. railways etc which anyways are pathhetic.
6. Lastly. they also have a police department to run [:D], which can be used to harass the common man.

Now, Why not to pay taxes :

1. If you dont pay tax that means you have more money, which means u spend more which creates more demand and thus helps in development of the country.
2. If you are a boss u stary paying better salaries, which means the national average increases.
3. You hire more ppl as a result of increase in demand thus, decreasing unemployement.
4. Well it would simple be hassle free and save govt money wasted in collecting and calculating taxes.

Humor apart plz pay your taxes on time, and dont blame me later.

Obama : Is this change for us ??

Its final, after beating John Mccain by huge margin Obama is going to be the next US prez after G W Bush Jr. The stage is set and the world is waiting fot the new US prez. Here in India everyone is giving comments on the new prez and the change. New channels have their panel of experts to comment and almost every person in this part fo the world is waiting for Obama. At this time of global slowdown, econmic slump and when the world is at the verge of being divided into two parts (Islamic and non ismlamic) thanks to few wars in last few years by US. Perhaps, this is the worst time for Obama to take the hot seat. But the big question i want to know Is this change really for us ??

One of my freind was very happy to see obama win the elections. I asked her why is she is soo happy about this. She said many things but i wasnt impressed. She talked about his brilliance, how he helped Bush etc. But my question was that it good, but for them why the heck should i be happy i live in India. And she had only one point for this n it was "Foreign policies". Now, i was amused because i couldnt understand wat better foreing policies she was expecting from US towards India that can transform our nation. Why would a prez of another country be willing to do something for us untill it benifits his country more.

I mean in a county with 100billion population there are lot more important things to do than be happy abt Obama n his yet to be announced foreign policies . I dont say that she was wrong, but does this change really for us or for a common farmer commiting sucide in Maharashtra or a woman dying in a bomb blast in varanasi, or a young employee woking extra shifts to save his job. At a point where the worlds stand, the developement is coming to Asia. I dont really see Obama turning USA's reds into greens. The global slowdown is bound to happrn, the power has to be divided, countries like India and China are rising. The cycle for US is coming towars an end, they were going towards the top, now its time to fall. Slowly and gradually the power will be shifted from North America to East Asia, and new superpowers will rise. What can a person Obama do in these circumstances, nothing more than slowing the process down or delaying it for some time but there is no magic wand which you can just use to change everything.

But does that mean that the Asia is better than US ?? Well for me absolutely not. I still rate US n Europe over East asian countries. Thanks to muted wars, terrorism, lack of unity n peace in the region, EA is not the place u would want to be at. With the goverment sleeping , corruption, population bursting, no value of human life, lack of infrastructure, education, and no social security its in no way a good place to live. Its a land of opportunities and jobs but not a land of peace and harmony. With bomb blasts every sunday in a country like India, Riots and agitation before Olympics in China and in malaysia, blasts in Pakistan, afganistan , wars of Iraq, and zero law n order situation in Nepal etc. The future is seems like where Richies will live in NA or Europe and having all the work in East asia.

For the change to really occur we need to change our mindsets and attitude in life. We should not be looking towars anyone for make this things happen for us, we'll have to make things happen ourself. Join our hands and fight corruption, refuse to give bribe, help ppl get educated not by reservation of seats but by helping ecomomically weaker ppl study. By asking questions to the govt officers, politicians, by stop voting based on cast. In the end i think only one thing can change things for us, that is we the people.

Reservation in CRICKET

BCT stands for OBC , SC , ST.

The govt. has decided to further protect the rights of backward section by having some new reservation in cricket. The bill is likely to take effect after the cricket world cup next year in west indies. The govt. has asked the BCCI to submit a report on the actions that can be taken to protect the intrests of SC, ST and OBC. The BCCI has submitted its report with certain relaxation in the sports and also sent a request to to the ICC for approval. The ICC has approved it saying that they have no problem with it as it is the internal matter of the country. As per the sources the few main points proposed in the report are -

1. The players of BCT(i.e OBC ,SC , ST) will have 49.5% quota in the team as proposed in education system.
2. The BCT batsmen cannot be bowled at speed greater than 145 Km/h.
3. The BCT batsmen will have relaxtion of one stumping and one hitwicket before being adjugded as out.
4. The crease for BCT batsmen will be 1 ft shorter than normal.
5. The BCT batsmen cannot be out on the first ball or on zero.
6. The Bct feilders will have the prefernce if they drop a hard catch and the batsmen in that case if of general category will be adjuged out and if from BCT section than it will be a re-ball.
7. The BCT bowlers will have the relaxation to ball 1 no ball , 1 wide, and 2 bouncers per over if the batsmen is of general category otherwise only 2 bouncers are allowed.
8. The boundary for BCT batsmen will be 10% shorter.
9. The BCT batsmen can not be caught out near the boundary ropes.
